Absolutely NOT! If you have not filed, it's no time like the present!! Contact me right away for details on your situation so I can advise you the best way to tackle this issue.
Every single person or business entity should have a good record keeping system.
Taxpayers (you) should have all necessary records handy, such as W-2s, 1099s, receipts, canceled checks and other documents that support any income, deductions or credits on their tax return."- IRS
I encourage you to take photos of receipt and digitally keep record online to maintain your records for at least 7-10 years intact.
Each company you were employed with "during that tax year" is required to submit a copy of your form W-2 by the end of Jan the following year (or face penalty) Form 1099 generally follow by March. You are allowed to start the process by contacting us here at Faithful Tax Prep and we will file your return as soon as the IRS allows.
Does your preparer return your calls? Do you feel comfortable asking them a question? Do you feel heard?
" Ask about service fees
Check the preparer's history
Never sign a blank return
Ensure the preparer signs the return and includes their PTIN "
With the right professional the answers should be a resounding "Yes!"
